Update:
Bexley will go for her 5th liver biopsy post transplant this Friday as well as a special MRI that looks at her bile ducts. Because of her history with complications in the past, this will require a hospital stay after. Her labs did not improve last week, and the team wants to investigate more to try to understand what could be going on. In the past, her numbers always improved with antibiotics, but that was not the case with the last 2 rounds of antibiotics.
Would you all pray for us and mostly for her. Pray for no rejection, infection, or complications. Just when we think we are finding some normalcy, another thing pops up. This is the nature of transplant life.
What we do know for certain is that God is good and He is faithful. Always! We trust Him and the knowledge he has placed in our incredible team at Duke! I truly believe they love Bex and have her best interest at heart!
We will continue to collect books for the book drive and bring them up with us on Friday. Thanks to all who have donated to this sweet cause.
As for Bex, she was excited to learn we would be staying. She is excited to see her nurse friends and eat all the ice cream her little heart desires after! The sunshine she brings to every situation fills my heart!💛🌻💛
