Emerging from the Storm

The last 96 hours have been extremely difficult for Cassidy. A lot of pain due to post-op complications, specifically pancreatitis.  Today Cassidy had another procedure to draw liquid out from around her lungs and place a chest tube because she is having difficulty breathing. Post surgery- Cassidy has been transferred BACK to the ICU so they can better monitor and manage her pain and ensure that she is breathing well on her own. Although the accumulation of complications has pushed back our timeline for returning home, Cassidy is continuing to fight to get there.

Not all bad news- in fact a huge praise is that her new liver is working well! Her TOTAL bilirubin is 1.3- a functioning and acceptable level. Her total bilirubin with her damaged liver had been as HIGH as 26. So thank you Jesus!

Prayer request-

  • Please pray that her lungs can drain of fluid and that there is no pneumonia.
  • Pray for her pain levels to drop and that her pancreatitis resolves.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

  5. My discharge date date was also delayed due to extra fluid in and around my lungs. I still have my scars from my chest tubes and those scars are badges of honor. They thought they would need to go back in and open me up again to drain but my body miraculously absorbed the extra fluid. I am fervently praying you have the same experience. You are a strong patient with a host of angels praying for you. Trust the process and try not to get discouraged. I believe in miracles and in YOU! Hit me up with any questions!
