August 4th at 10:47 pm we got the long awaited and highly anticipated call. They had a liver for Eli. However, these things are so complex. We wouldn’t know until Elijah was in the operating room if he would receive his transplant. 

We arrived to duke at around 12 am we were admitted and put into a room Elijah got a couple of tests done but then all we could do was wait. Around 3 pm they took Elijah to preop. Then around 4:30 pm we got the call they started surgery. they weren’t finished until around 11 that night.

Elijah did great! there have been no major complications as of yet and we are holding strong he’ll stay that way. We are post op day 6 as this is being typed. We’re hoping for discharge soon.
