Evelyn woke up so excited to see if Santa came…
and yes, he sure did! We jumped out of bed, turned on the lights, and headed to the Christmas tree that was filled with gifts.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t all be together this morning. Little brother Raylan tested positive for Influenza A even being vaccinated. He’s been given medications to help ease those symptoms. He was still able to open some of the gifts Santa brought him, and we saved the rest for when he’s feeling better and can visit his sissy.
Next year, I’m hoping for the simple joy of being home — all four of us, healthy and opening gifts together. It’s times like these that remind you to dig deep and be grateful for the cards you’ve been dealt. On Christmas Day, I did just that. Both of our kids had smiles on their faces, and that’s what truly matters.
Our hearts are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community; because of you, our kids did not go without this Christmas. Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and blessed rest of the year filled with love and gratitude.
