There’s not much of an update on Miss Evelyn — she remains stable. We’re now less than a month away from the big COTA for Evelyn’s Heart fundraiser! The days feel long, but the weeks are short. This time of year is hard for many people, and it feels even longer for us here in the hospital.
Each day, we try to find something to look forward to. For Evelyn, that might be taking a bath, going to Bingo, ordering DoorDash, or heading to physical therapy so she can be on the swing. It’s the little things that keep her motivated.
Evelyn said goodbye for now to her little friend Sabrina who’s also waiting for a heart. They were discharged to wait at home for her heart. As a parent, it’s isolating. When you develop friendships with people who understand, it makes it feel not so isolating.
