Evelyn has had a really good few days!
Today she got to go down to the magic show and see her friend Claire. They were even able to have a play date in her room. They did henna tattoos, face masks, watched a movie in the teen lounge, and enjoyed plenty of snacks together. The days have been long, but they’ve been mostly filled with activities, laughter, and little moments of normal childhood fun.
From a heart function standpoint, we also received some encouraging news. In May, Evelyn’s ejection fraction had dropped to 10%. On her most recent echocardiogram today, it was measured at 25% (normal is above 55%). While 25% is still considered severely reduced, it is the best her function has been in a long time and an improvement we are very grateful for.
Her BNP, a marker of heart failure, has also improved significantly — from 13,700 in March down to 580 today (normal is 23–289).
These are all positive steps in the right direction.
We pray every day for stability, and today we were given improvement. For a family that has been living one day at a time, that feels like a gift.
Thank you for continuing to pray for Evelyn and cheer her on.
