Biopsy

Gavin just got back to his room from his liver biopsy about an hour ago. Everything went well and they will hopefully have the results sometime later tomorrow.

Prior to the liver biopsy, Gavin also had a sedated bronchoscopy and laryngoscopy. This was done because, since the transplant he has been having some breathing difficulties. (Mostly when he gets sick or is post sedation). The ENT doctor wanted to go in and take a look to make sure there wasn’t anything that could be causing these issues and luckily, he saw a perfect looking airway. He said the difficulties Gavin has been having is likely an effect of his medications and having an already floppy airway from being weak. Because of this, when Gavin is sick or post sedation, he will be at an increased risk of needing oxygen supplementation. The ENT doctor did also recommend a sleep study for further investigation which will be done in the summer when there is less chance of him being sick.

Thank you all for the prayers! Praying the results come back good!
