Transplant Evaluation

???? We are going to Cincinnati two weeks from tomorrow! ????

We have our schedule for Jackson’s Transplant evaluation and man, it’s packed! Four days of nonstop appointments – Urology, Nephrology, EKG, EEG, ultrasounds of kidneys veins, vascular access, etc! But we are excited to get this show on the road. ????????

Matt and I have also started the process of donor testing. Questionnaires about our health and family history, patient advocate interview to make sure no one is paying us to donate a kidney ???? and I took the next step yesterday and had my blood drawn.

We have also started Jackson’s blood work for transplant – a stack of orders that I already feel like we are behind on ???? I will be taking him frequently to try and get that completed asap. One of things we have to think about because Jax is a kidney patient is the frequency of blood work so we don’t “dry him out.” We are lucky that he doesn’t have any fluid restrictions so we can try and make up for the loss by giving him extra milk/water.

We will be staying with amazing family while in Cincinnati and are very thankful for that! Most families have to either stay in a hotel, AirBnB or the Ronald McDonald House. Can’t wait to spend time with them while we are there! ??

And a big THANK YOU for all of the support on Jackson’s COTA campaign! We surpassed $10k this past weekend – we are blown away! And quickly realizing how this COTA funds will come in handy when transplant finally happens and we are juggling all the things – childcare for the girls, gas, etc!
