Post-transplant progress

Jen had another busy week with her post-hospital transplant recovery.  The pulmonary rehab team continues helping Jen make progress building her lung capacity and overall strength.  An important part of the post-transplant process is keeping an eye out for rejection.  Jen’s doctors performed a lung bronchoscopy and biopsy, which is a routine procedure to check for rejection by taking a tiny lung sample.  All was clear and those beautiful new lungs look great!  Thank you, donor hero!

Jen wrapped up the week with an IVIG antibody infusion—a new tool to prevent rejection.  This infusion is done on a monthly basis and takes a good part of the day.  Cue the big comfy chair and blanket for a well-deserved nap.  After a relaxing weekend, Jen is ready for another week of rehab and clinic, in true warrior fashion.  Onward!
