Quiet Recovery

Jen is working hard at what we’re referring to as the quiet part of her recovery.  The updates may not be flashy, but Jen is quietly improving her strength and lung capacity with daily visits to pulmonary rehab.  Her goal is to head north in early summer— without the aid of the rollator.  She’ll be back home again in Indiana soon enough, dreaming of the moonlight on the Wabash!  (It’s the month of May folks, and we have the iconic song “Back Home Again in Indiana” on our minds).

Speaking of quiet recovery, we haven’t mentioned Jen’s kidneys in a while.  We’re happy to report that those important little nuggets turned the corner with Jen and are now doing a great job.  After some touch and go moments, the prayers and good mojo really made the difference.  Thanks everyone.

Jen also had a fun change of pace to go along with her rehab recently.  While her “Weber’s Walkers” team took part in the Cystic Fibrosis “Great Strides” walk at Victory Field in Indianapolis, Jen attended the opening ceremony virtually thanks to Dr. Cindy Brown.  She may be in Durham, but her heart was in Indy that day!  Many thanks for walking, donating, and supporting Weber’s Walkers and CF research.  Jen is already looking forward to next year and getting closer to a cure.
