The day has come! Lincoln went into surgery around 11am today to get a liver transplant from his godmother and finished around 7pm. She is doing well and we are so thankful she was brought into our lives and willing to go through a major abdominal surgery and long recovery to give our son another chance at life. Lincoln still has a breathing tube and has a little sedation to keep him pain free and sleepy, but he did well during surgery and is still doing well. We had a rocky start to the day with Lincoln’s umbilical hernia rupturing, but luckily it happened the day of surgery and was taken care of. Lincoln will be on a lot of medications, some of which he will take for the rest of his life. He will have some restrictions growing up, but we plan to still give him the best life he can get! We love him and his godmother so much. We can’t wait to start this new journey with a new liver!!
