More progress

It’s been a busy last few weeks!  Mesa had round 4 of 6 of low dose chemo outpatient to try and keep the leukemia from coming back; she did have some illness from it but not as bad as before. The following week, Mesa received an infusion of more mature cells from her donor; these cells will travel around and hopefully kill any leukemia cells that come up.

If Mesa tolerates these infusions well, she can get up to 2 more infusions of increasing volume. The biggest happening was Mesa getting her “broviac” out, so in about 3 weeks she will be able to take baths and swim. Since her line is out, she now has to do all draws and treatments through an IV. Mesa does not have great veins so these are difficult for her.

Even though things are progressing well, the battle is not over!  Soon their medical deductible will reset at $6,000 per person and the bills will begin to grow again. We must also not forget that AML has 40% of recurring.  As hard and uncertain this journey has been, you all have made easier to bear!

Thank you again, and God bless you for your continued support.
