Good News and Bad News

Well, the good news is, that the gastrointestinal scope on Mesa was negative; however, the bad news is that she is still losing weight despite trying many different anti-nausea/vomiting treatments. If Mesa loses any more weight this week they are going put her back in the hospital on a feeding program to get her stabilized because she is dangerously underweight now.; the doctors have never seen anybody lose so much weight as fast as she has.  This procedure will most likely involve placing a nasogastric tube for feeding until she is able to eat enough to maintain her weight at a healthy place.

Additionally, Mesa is receiving round 4 of 6 outpatient chemotherapies which can also worsen her nausea and vomiting, so we have some challenges ahead of us to avoid hospitalization. The doctors are trying some additional medicine to lessen those effects.  If she goes back into the hospital it will be very close to the date she was first hospitalized because of her diagnosis of leukemia which will be especially difficult.

As always, thank you for your prayers and continued support.
