June 12th update: Day 227 in the hospital/Day 218 on the transplant list

Answered prayers today ❤️

On Monday night, Sofia began experiencing more shortness of breath than usual, even at rest. She needed oxygen overnight, but her oxygen saturations were still dropping. On Tuesday, her BNP level (indicates stress on the heart) came back elevated.

Her team gave her an extra dose of diuretic medication and planned to repeat her labs today. Thankfully, she seemed to be feeling more like herself afterward, but there were discussions about possibly needing to switch from oral diuretics to IV diuretics if her BNP remained elevated.

When the results came back during rounds this morning, we were relieved to hear that Sofia’s BNP level had come down.

For now, the plan is to continue monitoring her levels a little more closely and use an extra dose of oral diuretics if needed rather than making any bigger changes. We are so grateful for another stable day for our girl while she waits, and we are trusting in God’s perfect timing.
