We wanted to take a moment to catch everyone up on some of Sofia’s incredible progress since transplant.

Just one day post-op, our strong girl was already out of bed and into a chair, absolutely blowing the ICU staff away with her grit, determination, and strength. From there, she continued to progress quickly.

Her biggest hiccup was having a difficult time keeping one of her anti-rejection medications down. But, true to who Sofia is, she adapted. She learned to take that medication as a pill, and before we knew it, our resilient girl was ready to go home, less than two weeks after her transplant!

We are forever grateful to Sofia’s donor and donor family for this incredible gift of life, and to everyone who has prayed for her and supported our family along the way.
