Another Complication

Wesley has been doing really well! Unfortunately, to protect his liver and health, we had to pull him from preschool for the time being. Luckily, he hasn’t been sick since we stopped preschool.
Last week, we had to come up to Pittsburgh in order to do an MRCP and check his bile ducts to make sure they were all right. We discovered that one of his bile ducts has a stricture, so he has to have a PTC in order to place a balloon in the duct to help expand it out a bit. This happens regularly with liver transplants, but it means regular travel between NC and Pittsburgh for the next 6 months.
We learned about this last week and the soonest they could get us in for the procedure was today. We spent a fun weekend running around the hospital (since they kept us inpatient). Today, after waiting all day, more emergent cases took the forefront, so our procedure has been postponed to Thursday. So, we get to spend another couple days inpatient before getting this procedure done.
Hopefully, it actually happens on Thursday and we don’t have to wait any longer. On the bright side, Wesley is perfectly healthy and running around like a crazy child, smiling at everyone and everything.
