Just updating everyone that Annika is actually inpatient in Columbus at Nationwide. We had a long run out of here, but Tuesday night we found ourselves back in familiar territory. Tuesday both Annika and Amelia woke up with fevers and sore throats. Annika also had a cough that scared her to death. Hard to believe with as much as she previously coughed that one coughing spell would put her into such panic. First we went to our primary doctor. The chest xray there was concerning for a pneumonia. We went next to a local ER and had the lovely viral swab done. Given the chest xray reports from locally it was decided to admit her to Columbus. Many tests have been done. Of course the question in a kiddo like Annika is always is this an infection or rejection. Initially they were going to bronch her and get biopsies but since she appeared stable and the chest xray in Columbus was not conerning we did not process and took a watch and wait approach.

Overnight a mishap with her Malone (cecostomy) occured. She was accidentally fed into it. Fortunately xrays do not show a perforation of the bowel. Her pain is better and she has stopped vomitting. Shortly we are going to attempt to feed her.

Prior to all this fun happening Annika was still large and in charge at home. She ran a 1 mile race in Columbus the day prior to the Columbus marathon. I was able to run the half marathon again this year and Annika was the marathon champion for mile 6!

I need to upload photos so you can all see her amazing progress!
