Cassidy’s Transplant Day Update – Jan 27, 2023

Cassidy’s ‘ohana wanted to share the good news with each of you who has been supporting her.

The surgery was originally scheduled for 12 am (midnight), but due to delays, the surgery actually started around 5:30 am (3:30 am HST) this morning. The 6.5 hour surgery went very well. Cassidy is recovering in the ICU and is impressing the staff here. Her vitals are strong. Her heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen to the brain are all strong, which allowed the staff to remove her breathing tube. The removal of the tube is the first step to her recovery. Normally, the breathing tube is removed in the next day or two, but Cassidy got it removed six hours after surgery!

We still need to shower her with prayers. The next 72 hours are CRITICAL! Please pray that no infections develop. Please pray she will get stronger so the IVs can be removed and hopefully move out of ICU into a regular hospital room.

The care here is amazing. She has a team of nurses dedicated to her care and they are jamming! Cassidy is in good hands here and of course in God’s hands everywhere!

We don’t want to continue filling your email, so if you would like to opt into regular updates, please do so on the COTA for CassidyG site. #careforcass

The family is deeply grateful for your prayers.
