200 days in the hospital tomorrow.
I never imagined this would be our reality. Being here this long isn’t normal for anyone but somehow, we’ve adapted. We’ve found a new kind of normal within these walls.
Since transferring to Mayo, things have truly changed for the better. Evelyn has made a complete 180. We’re seeing so much more of her personality shine through again. She’s built friendships with other kids who are also waiting for a heart, and what once felt impossible has become part of her everyday life, playdates in the hospital, laughter, and connection.
From a medical standpoint, Evelyn remains stable. Her most recent echo showed no change. She continues to have a very low ejection fraction of 15% and is still in severe heart failure. But if you saw her, you might never guess the condition her heart is in. She walks the halls, dances, and most recently, she’s taken up yoga. Tonight, she even did a yoga session with her PCA.

She continues to amaze us every single day.
