We are incredibly overwhelmed in the best way by all the love being shown to Evelyn for her birthday. Thank you to every single person who has sent birthday wishes, gifts, cards, prayers, messages, donations, and love her way. Seeing so many people celebrate our sweet girl means more than we could ever put into words.
This week is a big one for Evelyn as she heads into surgery on Friday. As excited as we are to celebrate her turning 6, there’s also a lot of fear and uncertainty weighing on our hearts going into another major procedure. We are asking everyone to continue praying hard for her, sending positivity her way for strength, protection, wisdom for her surgeons and care team, and for a smooth recovery.
If you have any Hearts for Evelyn gear, we would love for you to wear it on Friday in support of her. No matter where you are, knowing people are standing beside her and cheering her on helps carry us through these difficult days. Today, we were even able to leave the unit for a little while with one of her nurses to enjoy some pizza together, and it felt so good to have a small moment of normalcy and smiles in the middle of all of this. Those little moments matter so much.
