Five-week Update

At five weeks post-transplant, Jen has settled into the long, slow process of recovery.  Her doctor reminded us that progress will happen weekly and sometimes no change is still moving forward.  Slow and steady wins the race, and a few hiccups will be par for the course.

A three-day, immunosuppressant-induced migraine forced Jen to take some well-deserved rest over the weekend.  In true “Jen Warrior” style she managed to squeeze in a walk before the migraine took over.  She is adding length and strength to her daily walks—slow and steady progress.  Additionally, Jen’s doctors are still keeping a close watch on her kidneys.  It’s too early to determine if they are working.  Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming for these little guys to wake up and get to work.

One more thing… only two weeks left for the COTA for Jen Warrior campaign to earn COTA’s challenge grant.  As of March 1st, the COTA for Jen Warrior campaign has raised $47,478.  Thank you, donors!  If the campaign reaches $50,000 by March 14th, the campaign earns a $5,000 Challenge Grant from COTA.  We’re so close—just $2,522 to go—please help us reach this important fundraising milestone by supporting COTA in Jen’s honor.  As always, thank you for your continued support of Jen and thank you for your support of COTA.  Onward!
