2 weeks out

Josiah and Daniel are both doing so well!

Daniel has resumed a few of his normal job duties, like phone work. But even more than that, he was able to get out (once) and drive himself to a job site to measure it! HE was out of the house for 2 hours by himself…He was excited about his progress but also exhausted upon his return. The PRN that I spoke with said, that it is completely normal, that he was just days ago firing a 2-cylinder machine and then just suddenly his body only has one. It is an adjustment for sure.

Josiah, on the other hand, does not have the same tired/exhaustion, he has the complete opposite! What I had chalked up to before as “teenager” has reversed! He is laughing more, his normal happy attitude is more upbeat, he has a bounce in his step. If you ask him, he says he feels the same…but less tired. But I can tell the difference and so can Daniel.

Josiah is in his period of isolation, so he has not been attending school. Next week he will start virtual tutoring to help him catch up to where his class is in their lessons. If the cold/flu/covid season remains calm, he should make it back to school just in time for Thanksgiving break.

On the kidney front… Josiah’s numbers are phenomenal! He is able to drink the amount of water they want him to consume (2500ml) daily. We supplement some of that water with mineral water so that he doesn’t flush all of the salts and such out of his system. We no longer look at labels for potassium, sodium, or phos. In fact, instead of needing binders, he now needs to take a supplement to ADD back phos for his bone health. I am sure, as when he was a baby, the need for supplements such as these will wane as his body adjusts to its new functionality.

We could not be more pleased or feel more blessed!
