Apologies for my silence as I have been dealing with my own losses recently.  But there is great news!  After so many setbacks and worries, Alex was discharged from Children’s Hospital yesterday!  He is already showing strides from being with his family in their new normal.  The family will stay at Ronald McDonald house for a week or so yet to be closer for labs work and clinic appointments.  Louie is back to work but Jenna is staying home for now.

Being together is amazing

No pokes til Monday! We were discharged to Ronald McDonald and if everything looks good at clinic on the 29th, we will go HOME.

Since being discharged, Alex has doubled his appetite and decided to start crawling across the entire room (he refused to crawl more than a foot at the hospital, and acted like it took a HUGE effort!)

He just needed to see his big brother to get the motivation

Next week he will also start outpatient PT and OT in mequon and at some point virtual speech therapy. He’s on 19 different medications which is a lot to try to manage, but should be getting rid of a few on Monday and probably half of them by 3 months post!

Now we are just going to enjoy having our family together!
