October Update

Our check up 10/11 went good. His liver labs were stable for the most part, He had two levels that were a little low that we followed up on the next week. (Follow-up Labs looked better.)

Since he is almost one, we went ahead and started to transition from formula. He will be taking a nutritional supplement called Pediasure Peptide instead of whole milk. His pediatrician gave us some samples to try, and Weston made a great transition!

A normal part of his liver disease is portal hypertension (increased blood pressure in the veins of the liver, stomach, etc.) Along with portal hypertension comes concerns for what is called esophageal varices (abnormal veins in the esophagus). So with this concern, he had an upper GI done which did show some abnormal veins. We will be going back in a couple weeks to have another upper GI done and hopefully have these veins banded to keep them from bleeding.

Thanks again for all the prayers and support!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Dinner Auction tomorrow!
