Dry Run!!!

Sorry for not updating more often. Weston has continued to have stable labs, which is great.

I am pretty sure my head is still spinning! We ended up having a DRY RUN yesterday. For those not in the Transplant world that means we got the CALL but unfortunately it was not the right time for Weston.
I cannot even explain the emotions that went through my mind. We knew there was a good chance that it would be a dry run because Weston was actually the back up candidate.

Our coordinator called me about 3-330, I was at work and missed her call. I called her back and she told me that we needed to head to St Louis. Weston was back up for a liver! I left work right then, picked Weston up, went home grabbed a few clothes, took Keigan to my sister in laws, then David, Weston, & I headed north. We were 15 minutes from the hospital and our coordinator called me back and said after more testing the liver wasn’t appropriate for Weston after all. But we still need to remember the donor family in our prayers. I can’t even imagine that loss. #DonateLife

Picture was after we got home last night and mommy just couldn’t hardly put him to bed. I just wanted to hold him forever. It’s amazing how fast things can change. Never take anything for granted!

Update- the liver was accepted by the other candidate!!!
