Day 13, a Tiny Tummy

Transplant Day 13…
Not that I’ve ever done this before, nor do I truly know what to expect, I just know from others that transplant is not easy & can be rather ugly. So far, That is not what we are experiencing. With the exception of the high liver numbers, Victoria is doing remarkably well in her transplant recovery.
Her liver numbers continue to trend down. Scopes have all been promising with no signs of rejection so far. The team monitors her meds very closely and tweaks them accordingly. She did need 2 more units of blood today but all that is to be expected.
She’s at 20ml/hr of a very diluted formula and they bump it up 2mls every 12hrs. It’s a very slow process reconditioning the gut and a bit frustrating for her since she actually feels hungry!
Victoria said to me the other night, “Mom, I wish I could explain to you just how good I feel.” -baby girl, I wish I could explain to you how much my heart is soaring to hear you say that.
Look how TALL my girl is and how tiny her tummy is????
