Sunday June 14: POD 9

It’s been a quiet, rainy Sunday here in Cincinnati. Emmy finally had a decent night. We were able to keep her pain episodes under much better control. She made a mess with the muffin she ate so it’s only a sign that our girl is coming back with each passing day!!! Today, her and Dad went on an adventure and wheeled around the hospital playing their spy game. Diabetes-wise she’s doing good. She’s on a 1:30 insulin to carb ratio. So for every 30 carbs she’s eats, she gets 1 unit of insulin. Her pump site was changed today. It gets changed every 3 days. Her glucose monitor (dexcom) is changed every 10 days. It will be a busy week as we start the diabetes education and Avery and my mom arrive to town!
