32 days away from surgery!

We have gotten into a decent groove around here. Dinner time is definitely the hardest. Most nights Emmy chooses to play upstairs while we eat dinner but there have been a few times she has wanted to join us at the table with her little bowl of jello! The smell of food is hardest for her to push through because it makes her miss it so much. Current jello and popsicle rating:

Jello flavors: 1) Welch’s strawberry peach 2) Sonic Cherry Lime Aid 3) Starburst – All Pink

Popsicles: 1) Jonny Pops – Strawbery Lemonade 2) Jonny Pops – Cotton Candy 3) Jonny Pops – Summer Sunrise

She is doing an amazing job staying strong and mostly positive which is so much better than I would do!! 1 more month to go! 💪

The feeding tube she has in is only good for 30 days so she is scheduled to get hers replaced next Tuesday the 12th. They will remove this one and place a new one in her other nare which is much needed because the skin on her left cheek is getting pretty angry under the adhesives. I’m having to reach back to my burn unit days for some wound care tricks!!

Home school is going well. We are so proud of her ability and willingness to lock in and get her work done! She’s missed quite a bit of school at the end of last year and throughout this year so we are working hard and filling in the gaps with Ms Michelle’s help. 💜 Emmy finished reading Charlotte’s Web last week. I’m sure everyone remembers the first book that made them cry, this was Emmy’s!! She has such a love for animals and bugs so the ending definitely brought some sadness. Her and I are going to see the play next week as a celebration for finishing it!

The girls’ aunt Dani got them a super special present that they are loving! They are bracelets that the girls can send vibrations to each other on. If one wants to say “I love you” or “I miss you” to the other, they tap the bracelet a certain way and they other persons lights up a specific color and does a specific vibration pattern. They have been using it when Avery’s at school and are really looking forward to having it for the 3-ish weeks they will be apart starting June 1st. Big big thank you to Aunt Dani. I had never heard of such a thing!
