After 22 days, we are all going to bed under the same roof tonight! We got the ok to head to Ronnie’s House this afternoon!! We are sooooo happy to all be back together. Emmy got over here in time to participate in the house activity tonight. The big excitement of the day though – both girls’ blood sugars were 100 at the same time!! Haha. Big smiles around here about that. If your blood sugar is 100 it’s called a “unicorn” because it’s the perfect blood sugar. We were joking the other day about what it would be called if they were both unicorns at the same time… we landed on Pegasus! So tonight, our first night back together, we got our Pegasus!! It felt like it was our rainbow after a storm.
Now that we are out of the hospital, Jarret and my work begins. Emmy is on feeds overnight from 9pm-5am with meds around 1am. She’s been waking up for pain meds around 3am-4am each night. So it’s going to feel like we have a newborn again for a little while! The next few weeks, Emmy will have PT 3 days a week plus appointments with surgery, endocrine, pain team and GI each week in their outpatient clinics. In between all those and the naps I’m going to need, we are hoping to have some fun around Cincy.
Great news…. we have no appointments or plans tomorrow other than soaking up some quality time together here around the house. We wanted to send another BIG thank you for everyone’s support and love over the last few weeks and months. Today feels like a big step towards our new future of health and happiness!
