Haven was taken off the ventilator last night, and though they had a rough night, she is recovering well today. Her chest tube fluid output is normal, and she has even begun short physical and occupational therapy sessions.

She is being allowed to take one sip at a time of apple juice or water, which she is demanding be “ice cold”.   The therapist even had her sit up in bed and dangle her feet off the side for a short time.  She developed a slight fever in the afternoon but it is already coming back down. So far it has been a good day!
