Last night was a fairly uneventful night all things considered. Blood sugars did amazing. Pain was and continues to be our biggest challenge at this point. Pain team will be coming by shortly to see if we can get her more comfortable. We may try to sit the head of the bed up today but not sure if we will get her all the way to the chair today or not. She is very alert this morning and talking to us quite a bit. They took 1 of her sedations meds (precedex) off overnight because it was causing her heart rate to go a little too low but she remains on 1 sedation med (Ketamine) that will also help her not remember most of this! 

Emmy “watched” basketball with me last night although she didn’t seem nearly as disappointed as I was with how that game ended. Turns out both of the girls “love” watching basketball with me when they’re sedated!! 

Her stuffed hippo Momo and Baby Kim went into the OR with her yesterday and I wanted to give an update on them as well. Although they also have a central line, incision dressing, and belly drain just like Emmy, they are excepted to make a full recovery as well – 1 tube at a time!
