A lot has happened since our last post. Rafe celebrated being six months post liver transplant on June 18th and we have spent the month celebrating each and every day. Lots of jumping on the trampoline, fishing, and playing with his sister Burkley. He also overcame a great fear of his while getting his blood drawn. He was able to stay calm and only got one stick!! That was a very big success for him and we are so proud!
His six month transplant anniversary was on June 18th. It was such a powerful yet humbling day for our family. It’s hard to believe where we were six months ago. Without his donor, Rafe wouldn’t be here today. We are so thankful for his health and being able to celebrate him today and everyday. That day, we celebrated with a homemade cookie cake and reflected on his journey thus far. June 18, 2021 was a huge milestone for not only Rafe and our family but for the donor’s family as well. While we celebrate six months of life they mourn six months without their child. We hope the followers of Rafe’s journey will continue to pray for the donor families hearts and the incredible gift that they’ve given us.
